WHISTLER VILLAGE - SHOPPING & ART GALLERIES
Calling all Shop-o-holics!
Whistler offers a unique shopping experience. Modeled after a Swiss Alpine Village, the Whistler Village is closed off to car traffic, allowing you to stroll comfortably from shop to shop along a cobblestone path.
Whistler's diverse amenities attract the casual weekend golfers to the summer long working students. Whistler has many great local businesses that sell unique clothing and equipment to the Whistler area.
In Whistler you will always be greeted with a huge smile and a cheery hello every time you enter a store. Be sure to spend the day exploring every corner of the Village. There are several great stores that are just off the main Village Stroll.
Art Galleries
Whistler has super souvenirs for your visit to Super Natural British Columbia. British Columbia's beautiful mountain vastnesses, its savagely varied seacoasts and rich cultural heritage make for some soul provoking artistic works, including paintings using organic prints, soapstone carving, basket weaving, pottery, traditional and modern Native art, intricate glasswork and amazing photography.
There are galleries scattered throughout Whistler Village that feature work by local, national and international artists. Several local artists also welcome visitors to their home studios. Ask for names at the galleries and then call ahead. Also be sure to enjoy Whistler's interactive public art sculpture such as Sightlines, Glacier Traces and - Whistler's newest public art sculpture - the 20-foot-tall Wayfaring Landmark, featuring a 25-foot aluminum sail. All are found by the pedestrian bridge at the north end of the Town Plaza area.
